Aloha! Welcome to the beautiful and magical island of Maui. Congratulations on your engagement and choosing Maui, Hawaii as the place to have your ceremony. You will not be disappointed, I know because I got married here in February of 2012. I was so impressed with the island that my wife and I spent the next 3 years working to get back. Now here I am, a Maui wedding photographer, shooting for couples from all over the world, in the most beautiful place on earth and loving every minute of life. I hope you have a similar experience.
There are many Maui wedding photographers and finding the best one for you can be difficult. You can search the web for hours and pretty soon they all run together. Make sure you absolutely love their style and vision. You will be looking at your wedding photos for the rest of your life, and so will all your house guests! Also make sure you are getting what you want. I give all the images on a CD for you to print at your convenience. I do sell prints at very reasonable pricing and printed by a fantastic lab. When is comes to photography quality matters all around. Sure you can print at your local Walgreens or Walmart, but printing at professional grade labs makes a huge difference in quality. Whether through me or doing it yourself, pay the little extra and get high quality prints made.
There are so many locations to choose from and you can’t go wrong. If your getting married on the beach from Kapalua to Makena Cove they will all exceed your expectations. Some beaches are busier than others, so do a little research and find one that may be away from a hotel. If you’re getting married at a resort or hotel they’ll take all the guess work out of it for you. Many have beautiful private grounds just for such an occasion. I travel all over the west side of Maui for no extra charge, anywhere east of Kahului there will be an extra fee added.
Light is the most important thing in photography and can completely change the look of your photos. I recommend sunrise or sunset for the greatest results. Sunrise may seem crazy but remember there is a large time change coming to the islands and your internal clock won’t adjust as quickly as you’d think. The light is soft and air is crisp in the mornings, on the west wide of the island you’ll get great blue skies and water. With a Maui sunset wedding you’ll get great warm light, reds, pinks and oranges reflecting in the water and much more dramatic tones.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and I hope you choose me as your Maui wedding photographer. Mahalo!
